Utah Part I

We decided to take a trip to Utah this summer kind of last minute. We decided to do the drive as well which is two days of traveling about 13 or so hours a day. Surprisingly our kids did great!!
On the drive home, the second day, about 8 hours into our drive Adalie said, "Mom we are going to get home when it is still light outside."
"No, it will be dark when we get there"
"No cause our day just started and we haven't been driving long" Ha!
My trick is to give them lots of warning before we leave that it is going to be a very long drive. I also stock up on new toy/activities before we go and make sure they are hidden so that when I pull them out during the drive everyone is excited. I also came up with a new eating system in the car. We usually never stop to eat anywhere so I had a cooler packed with a box of food that we survived on for two days. Everyone got a dixie cup with a little rectangular bucket and I put their food in that. It worked out really nice. We each usually had a little meltdown the last two hours of the drive. Nate drove us out there and then a day later had to catch a plane to New Orleans, then back to Ohio. He came back out to Utah almost two weeks later and stayed for a week, then we got to all drive back home.

This was about an hour into our drive
Trying to stay entertained

I always feel like hitting the Wyoming border is the home stretch!

Reid loved riding with Dustin

He took us all on some crazy rides! Those things can climb some serious hills!!

Adalie got to hold sweet little Dottie

Finally together again Adalie and Jordyn!

We all went to the Provo Recreation center the day after we got in. It is such a nice facility!

Grandma and Hallie

There is a cool rock climbing wall in the pool

After swimming we went to Jake and Camille's house for a BBQ. It's so fun to see all the cousins together

That night we had a sleep over at my mom's house with all the girl cousins. They watched frozen and sang their hearts out. The next day they played all day and had so much fun together!

We went to a cool park near my mom's house with water and a zip line. Again the kids had a ball!

The mom's doing what we do!

Cousins and more sand!

The next day we went to Scheels for a ferris wheel ride and to see the fish

My cousin Nina's little girl Cedar turned 3 and we happened to be in town for her birthday. It was a princess party so my kids loved it! Even Reid!

Reid got a little too comfortable

The next day we went with my brother and his family and my mom to the new Children's museum. It was fun but VERY crowded.

Hands down this was Reid and Adalie's favorite part!

The girls got a little carried away in the bath. All of a sudden we heard screams from the bathroom and found this!

The girls snuggling before bedtime

I took the kids on a ride on the front runner. It is a really nice train and quiet and smooth. Of course the kids loved it, especially Reid. He currently has an obsession with trains. He thinks they are called "thomas"

They couldn't decide if it was hot or cold out......it was like 85 degrees, Hallie didn't last long.

Kaiden turned four and we went to Sami's parents house for his party. Of course Sami knows how to throw a party and had the kids thoroughly entertained!! Adalie was too cool for a pirate hat.

The next day we hit up the South Jordan parade. My kids and I are suckers for parades!

That afternoon we drove out to the cabin for a couple of days. Seat belts not required ;)

Teach 'em young

My mom took them out on a ride which is their favorite thing to do!

The famous tire swing. This thing used to scare me as a kid because it is tied between two trees and I was always afraid of hitting the trees which happened fairly often
