May Wrap-up

For Mother's day, Nate made my mom and I breakfast crepes!

Ryan and his two binkies. Tonight we actually cut the cord. I had decided that I would keep doing the binkie thing until we lost them or there were holes. Holes it was so I cut them and he was MAD!
 So BIG!

 These girls love this boy!

My BFF Jamie (on the left) moved to Columbus two months ago. I've been heart broken! She knew I was doing a 10K with our other friend Angie. I tried to get Jamie to do it and she wouldn't (she hates running). Well she drove 2 hours to surprise me and run it with us!! I was so happy! It was so fun! She also made us these T-shirts!
I LOVE these girls! I couldn't do Ohio without them!!

We were at Lowes in the checkout line and the girls were posing Reid for "professional pictures"

 Ryan getting his daddy love

This boy got soaked with the hose

He wanted me to take his picture

We were cleaning out the garage and Reid came up and started singing Christmas songs. He showed us his feet. These are the golf club socks and he thought they looked like Santa shoes. He wore them around for a couple of hours.

Adalie had her dance recital. She was adorable and they had a really cute dance to "Ice Ice Baby"! Reid loved it so much! During the dance he kept telling us how great it was and  how much he loved it. Shortly after the dance I went and got Adalie to come watch the rest of the recital. Reid saw her and cried real tears because he wanted her team to do the dance again. Adalie kept telling him she couldn't and he was so upset. We tried not to laugh, he was so sincere.

This is what I get (Nate's head cut off) when I ask a 70 year old woman to take our picture! Ha!

Adalie came in to tell me she almost ate this real egg thinking it was candy! Ewww! We have a bird problem right now that we need to get to the bottom of! Nate is having WWIII with the birds currently!

School's OUT!

This was taken the last week of school. This is the one and only time we walked/road bikes to school this year.

 After school selfie?

I don't know who is more excited, me or them!? I love sleeping in and taking it slow in the morning! Both girls are really going to miss their teachers. I was pulling up to get Hallie and I saw her run and give her teacher a hug. She got in and immediately told me that she was going to miss her teacher and looked a little teary eyed. I'm usually a little emotional the first and last day of school because it's the beginning and end of chapters in their lives.

I often forget to clue this boy in on whats happening. I don't think he knew school was going to be out for summer until the day of. This boy loved school!

Akron Zoo

I got to go to the Akron Zoo with Adalie's class. The boys went to day care that day which tore at my heart strings because they were not happy about it initially, but had fun overall.

Nate bribed Reid with a McDonald's lunch date in order to get him to daycare peacefully.

 The girls in our group

Adalie's 2nd grade class. I will say that this was a hard year. Adalie seemed to do fine and I know the teacher loved having Adalie in her class, but 75% of the class was VERY hard. There were many of us frustrated parents in the principal's office angry that all of the problem children were put in one class together. We got through it and I hope the school administration learned a lesson. I loved her teacher, but hate that she had to have such a tough year! Bring on 3rd grade!

Reid Turns 4!

Reid has never had a non family birthday party. I wasn't sure if I would be able to pull one off this year or not given we had just moved. I managed to pull it together last minute.I didn't tell Reid until the day before that we were having a party because he doesn't fully grasp days of the week etc. so I decided not to let him drive us both crazy. He had so much fun and was so sweet during the whole party! He truly has a heart of gold! He was so grateful for all of his presents and for everyone coming. I invited his makeshift grandparents who love him so much. He saw them arrive and dropped what he was doing and ran to them and hugged them. I love this kid!

Hours before the party we decided what kind of cake he wanted.

This is Reid's best friend Justyn. They go to preschool together. Reid is 1 of  2 white kids in the class. He thinks he knows Spanish...

Ryan with Justyn's hat, he thought he was pretty cool!

The next morning, Reid playing with some new toys wearing his new jammies.

Nate Turns 34!

Wow 34! I feel like our 30's are going to go quick!
We had only been in our house for 2 days on Nate's birthday! My mom and Gary made dinner. Seriously they were the BIGGEST help ever! We could not have done it without them! If I must mention, Nate got a house for his birthday!
First time cooking in the kitchen!

Nate got a little sign and balloons at work

Reid Update

As I've mentioned before Reid has had two seizures in the last 9 months. Just to be sure his specialist wanted to have an EEG done to make sure there was no abnormal activity going on. She suspected there wouldn't be, but just wanted to know for sure. Luckily we got to have the test done at a closer hospital! Reid was SO good during this test. They have to lay still for 30 or so minutes and try to fall asleep. Yeah right .....well considering his age he did wonderful. The technician said she had seen the day before that she was going to be giving the test to a (then) 3 year old boy and was nervous. Again, he did excellent which made me happy because this gives better test results. Anyways, he never fell asleep, but was on the verge. A couple of days later his doctor called and said his test came back abnormal and that all parts of his brain were spiking while drowsy. Long story short Reid is susceptible to epilepsy. We really don't know any more than that at this point. She told us she was fine if we chose not to medicate. Nate and I both agreed not to medicate and thought that was too soon given he has only had two seizures. We still aren't certain if this is epileptic seizures or febrile seizures. There are two red flag at this point: 1.The 1-2 second long muscle convulsions are not typical of febrile seizures (the grand mal that he had is normal for febrile)  2. His EEG spikes while drowsy are a characteristic of epilepsy. At this point we are laying ground work for the future. She told us to expect more seizures, but no need to do anything (such as call 911 or go to the doctor) unless longer than 3 minutes, which we have rescue medicine for. I really hope she is wrong and that he can live a life epilepsy free!

Boys Nights/Girls Nights

Nate and Reid went on their first father son camp out. Reid had a blast except for waking up in the middle of the night to find Nate gone. Nate had gotten up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and said on his way back to the tent he was star gazing and taking his time. Then he eventually heard Reid crying for him who woke up the whole campsite. Reid was really upset. Another sad story was on the way to the camp out, Nate and Reid carpooled with another family, Nate first got Reid settled in their car and then went back to get their stuff. Reid though Nate was dropping him off. Reid was so upset! Poor guy! Besides that drama he had a great time!

Apparently Reid was amazed by this water fountain....

Meantime back in Orrville, me my mom and the girls went out to eat for dinner then came back home and the girls jumped their hearts out with their friends. These 3 girls live in our neighborhood (1 is also missing) and it's WONDERFUL! It also helps that I am good friends with their moms. They all walk back and forth between houses and have so much fun!
 Back at camp.......

The next night my mom and I went shopping all day long, just the two of us! It was AWESOME! Nate had a BBQ with the kids while we were gone.
 Great investment (I hope)!
