Last week Nate had to go to a meeting in Kentucky and since my cousin lives down there we went down with him. Best way to vacation, on someone else's dollar....
Dustin is currently renovating his kitchen and he is a bachelor so this combo was pretty challenging for a family of 5.....

We brought our pool down so the girls would have something to do
All 3 of them had a blast
Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky derby
Ice cream stop!
One of the highlights was a rainstorm that hit about 5 minutes after this photo
And it started....we knew it was going to rain before we climbed to the top of this bridge, but we thought it wouldn't be too bad and it was warm rain we could play in......or so we thought.....
Hail started and it hurt....
We came back drenched! We looked like we literally jumped into a pool with our clothes on! Reid took it pretty well.....the girls? Not so much!
The next day we went back down to that bridge and played at the splash pad that was located just below it.
If you notice, this is a picture of the bridge we were on when the storm hit, it wasn't easy getting down. The bridge takes you over the Ohio rive into Indiana. My girls we so excited to walk over to Indiana, sadly we missed our chance.
We cooled off with some frozen yogurt.
One of my all time favorite pictures!!
We stayed a night in Cincinnati at a hotel. Adalie did her hair all by herself for the first time!!
playing "dad" in her "work shirt"
Finally, the girls were having a water balloon fight and it was 88 degrees out, Hallie didn't want to get wet so she went inside and got pants, rain boots, and a coat with a hood on.... she didn't last long, about 5 minutes later she came out in a swim suit....
