Housing Update!!

Wow! It's been a roller coaster!! We were so excited to purchase this home and told our realtor we didn't want to lose this home! We got into a bidding war and won! We were so excited. Then came the home inspection and also us looking at things more closely! Yikes!! We knew the home would need new plumbing and electrical, the home was built in 1907, we were just hoping it would not all be now. The electrical could wait but we decided to do it now. The plumbing is failing, then the foundation needs work, there is mold in the basement since it sat vacant for over a year in moisture. We also want a new kitchen. Since we bid the home up, we didn't want to add too much extra expense beyond a kitchen, but the other stuff was a NEED. We renegotiated with the bank and they came back down to their asking price!! We were so excited (It was already priced for all of the fixes originally)!!! Have you ever watched Fixer Upper/Property Brothers/Rehab Addict??? This home is just like everything in those shows that I love!! I am in heaven! We are currently planning on two months of work on the house before we move in. Once we move in we would like to start looking into finishing the attic for a master suite! We don't close for another month so nothing is official yet. As long as the appraisal comes back okay (they consider the price after our fixes) we should be okay! I am so excited!!!! The house is plenty big for us. The yard is great too! There is so much detail in the woodwork and built in storage. Can you sense my excitement??!? Ha! So happy to not be living on top of each other anymore!
