St. Patrick's Day

Our girls had so much fun today. It was fun to be a Fighting Irish during St. Patrick's Day! Late last night the leprechauns paid a visit to our house.

The leprechauns left some green tiaras and green shirts

Spring Break!!!

We had an awesome Spring Break for two reasons--one the weather here is PERFECT, and two we went to Indianapolis for three days two nights with our friends the Coates. In Indianapolis we went to the Zoo, Incredible Pizza (an upscale version of Chucky E.Cheese--more fun and better food) and to the Children's Museum. We have never been to Indy and on our way home decided we could see ourselves living there. It's a really cool city!

Lots of Dates!

Nate was taking finals last week so the girls and I had a date together playing basketball during family hours on campus at the Rolf.

Hallie has preschool twice a week with her friend Hannah. These girls love each other so much. They are playing "hair lady"

Hallie, Hannah, Dorothy, Adalie, and Oaklee
Girls day at our house last week. They are playing doctor and Hallie is taking care of them all.

For playgroup last week we went to the Chocolate Factory

Nate and I had a date night just before Valentines Day. We took advantage of the free babysitting offered once again at the Village. Dinner was in a mansion downtown which was really fun. After dinner we were able to tour the home!

 The boys: Brad, Brian, Nate

Bad Dreams

Last night Hallie had her first bad dream that we know of. She woke up at about 3:30 am and was crying telling us that there was a bee in her bed. It broke my heart with how sad she was. Luckily in the dream she said daddy threw it in the garbage. However, she is still convinced that the bee is still in her bed. We had to lay a blanket down over her bed so the bee could not get her. Adalie hates bad dreams as well and often asks in her prayers for her and Hallie to have good dreams and if they can be Care Bear dreams which is really cute.

This is Hallie at the Kroc Center. We went swimming there for playgroup a couple of weeks ago. My girls LOVED it!

Motherhood

Ohhhh motherhood.....where to start? I have found that things are different here than in Utah. I often have people commenting on my pregnancy and they seem to always assume it is my first. When I tell them it is my third they seem so surprised. Today while at the gym there was a guy (a regular I see often who decided it was time to mention my pregnancy) asked me how I was feeling and telling me about his son's wife who was pregnant with their 2nd. I could see he was ready to tell me all of the exciting things of becoming a parent and how much I would love it. I quickly interrupted and told him it was my 3rd. He had a VERY surprised look on his face and probably decided he did not need to share his wisdom--once again this was not the first time I have experienced this with strangers. In Utah either no one cares you're pregnant and they tell you to get in line or they ask what number of pregnancy this is knowing it couldn't be my first because I look to be in my mid-20's.

There certainly are more joys to motherhood. Yesterday at the store Hallie yelled out, "Mom, I heard that, that was you! You farted!!" All of a sudden people started looking at me and I was so embarrassed! By the way it wasn't me!!

I also experienced for the first time going shopping for clothes for Adalie while she came along to pick them out. She has outgrown so many of her clothes and I have now learned that she has to pick them out or she will hate them. I have so many clothes with tags on them I am saving for Hallie because Adalie would not wear them. It was actually pretty fun to take her along. Nate was busy with homework on Valentine's Day so Adalie and I went on our own little date. While at Target she insisted on trying them on in the dressing room because she sees me do this while shopping. We went into the dressing room and when she would try on a dress she would run out into the hallway and cut in front of everyone to dance around in front of the mirrors. Then yesterday she was so excited about all of her new clothes and wanted to keep changing outfits. I didn't want her to and she cried being so serious, "Mom, I can't wear this outfit all day long!"

Adalie does not like that our house is so small and when she goes to other people's houses she comes back and asks why we can't live in a bigger house. Yesterday she told me that we live in a hotel. I asked her what made her think that and she said its because our house is so small like a hotel, that I forgot that we live in a hotel and not a house.

Hallie keeps reminding me that I have hair in my arm pits--no I don't shave everyday! She will often ask me if she can see the hair in my arm pits and then tells me that when she is a mommy she will have hair in her arm pits too!

Finally, yesterday Hallie said,
"Adalie, I want to tell you a secret in your ear"she leans into Adalie "priesthood power". She had a huge smile on her face after, it was pretty cute.

More Hallie

Hallie makes me laugh on a daily basis!

Yesterday out of know where she was going potty and she said, "Mom, I'm crazy.......no, daddy's crazy!"

Then today she fell outside and scraped her hands for the second time in a week. After she was all better she said, "Mom, I got to stop falling outside on the playground cause I get hurt."

So I am dramatic with my kids when I don't want them to get hurt. When they are near the stove I tell them to be careful or they will burn their face off. Today while I was cooking Hallie said, "Mom, don't burn your face off!" Then a few days ago she was walking down the stairs and Adalie came up behind her and scared her so Hallie cried to me and said, "Mom, Adalie scared me and was gonna break my head off." She was afraid of falling down the stairs.

She is always drawing on pieces of paper and tells us she is writing her name. The other day she did the usual and then said, "Oh my heck I wrote my name!" it was too cute!

Gosh I love her!
